Areca Palm
Dypsis lutescens
Medium-to-high light plant.
A graceful palm with yellow highlights that grows dense and thrives
in warmth and moisture. Fast growing, but it should be used with
caution in commercial interior situations. It is difficult to
maintain and keep in good condition. Arecas are inexpensive but need
to be replaced more often. Does best in higher humidity and fresh air circulation. Larger
mature Arecas are easier to care for. A better substitute might be
the
Kentia Palm.
The Areca is
rated among the best plants for removing indoor air toxins, and it
releases copious amounts of moisture into the air (transpiration). |
